After breakfast today, set out on an excursion to the small resort hamlet of Dhanaulti - at a 33 kilometer distance from Mussoorie. Go up to the ancient mountain top shrine of Surkhanda Devi (9700 ft). The shrine is surrounded by exquisite deodar and pine trees, beautiful valleys, and snowcapped mountains. Later, visit the famous Kempty Falls. This falls was developed as a tourist destination by a British officer John Mekinan, around 1835. The name Kempty is probably derived from the word 'camp-tea', as the British, during the colonial rule, would organize their tea parties here.
